Through their first five games, Nebraska had only scored one touchdown in the 1st quarter. Against Northwestern, the Huskers tallied three en route to their most dominant win over the Wildcats.

Hastings captured the Class B Boys State Championship for the first time since 1921. Senior Jaydon Welsh earned four medals to help the Tigers claim this monumental victory.
